Seasonal Planting
About 20 people attended and enjoyed this RGC community outreach – creating a myriad of beautiful, colorful baskets.
Two new members joined after attending this event.
This is a return engagement for our enthusiastic Chair, Pati Johnson, who is already planning another project!
A Basket for All Seasons
Riviera Garden Club member Pati Johnson gave a one hour hands-on demonstration/workshop to fifteen guests at El Retiro Library. This event combined donations from different groups with community outreach. Donations included supplies from the Friends of the Torrance Library and baskets from the members of the Riviera Garden Club. Pati generously donated her honorarium from the Friends of the Torrance Library to the Riviera Garden Club.
Pati and co-president Wendy Tsuji donated their Saturday morning to this community event. After Pati’s instruction, each of the fifteen guests began assembling a basket to take home. This proved to be such a fun way to get over one’s fear of making beautiful plant arrangements in baskets. Everyone enjoyed the workshop and asked about the club that had sponsored it. Pati was ready with leaflets with our contact information. It was a successful outreach program.
